Texting Phone Number Functions

Overview

Depending on the type of phone numbers you are utilizing in Cadence, the way that contacts interact with those numbers will vary. This article will explain the different phone number and voice forwarding options.

This article will cover:

  • Virtual numbers and voice forwarding
  • Text-enabled landlines and voice forwarding

Virtual Number With Voice Forwarding

1. Texts sent from the Cadence web app or mobile app will come from your virtual number; that is what contacts will see on their phones.

2. Texts sent to your virtual number will be managed in Cadence via the web app or mobile app.
3. Calls placed to your virtual number (when voice forwarding is set up) will show your virtual number on the contact's caller ID (i.e., contacts never see the actual forwarding number).
4. Any texts you send or calls you place outside of the Cadence web app/mobile app (i.e., texts/calls sent from another app on your phone or calls from your office phone) continue to come from the phone numbers associated with those accounts and operate outside of Cadence. 
5. Currently, you cannot place calls from within Cadence.

Virtual Number Without Voice Forwarding

1. Texts sent from the Cadence web app or mobile app will come from your virtual number; that is what contacts will see on their phones.
2. Texts sent to your virtual number will be managed in Cadence via the web app or mobile app.
3. Calls placed to your virtual number (when voice forwarding is set up) will immediately connect to a recorded message indicating that the number is not set up for voice calls.
4. Any texts you send or calls you place outside of the Cadence web app/mobile app (i.e., texts/calls sent from another app on your phone or calls from your office phone) continue to come from the phone numbers associated with those accounts and operate outside of Cadence. 
5. Currently, you cannot place calls from within Cadence.

Text-Enabled Landline Number With Voice Forwarding

1. Texts sent from the Cadence web app or mobile app will come from your text-enabled landline number; that is what contacts will see on their phones.
2. Texts sent to your text-enabled landline number will be managed in Cadence via the web app or mobile app.
3. Calls placed to your text-enabled landline number (when voice forwarding is set up) will show your text-enabled landline number on the contact's caller ID (i.e., contacts never see the actual forwarding number).
4. Any texts you send or calls you place outside of the Cadence web app/mobile app (i.e., texts/calls sent from another app on your phone or calls from a phone that does not have your text-enabled landline number) continue to come from the phone numbers associated with those accounts and operate outside of Cadence. 
5. Currently, you cannot place calls from within Cadence.

Text-Enabled Landline Number Without Voice Forwarding

1. Texts sent from the Cadence web app or mobile app will come from your text-enabled landline number; that is what contacts will see on their phones.

2. Texts sent to your text-enabled landline number will be managed in Cadence via the web app or mobile app.
3. Calls placed to your text-enabled landline number will show your text-enabled landline number on the contact's caller ID.
4. Any texts you send or calls you place outside of the Cadence web app/mobile app (i.e., texts/calls sent from another app on your phone or calls from a phone that does not have your text-enabled landline number) continue to come from the phone numbers associated with those accounts and operate outside of Cadence.
5. Currently, you cannot place calls from within Cadence.
