Release Notes - 3/12/2018: Group Accounts, MMS, Marketplace, Mobile App Updates

Group Accounts

Group Accounts allow Admins and Owners to create department-specific shared accounts that multiple users can access. They function as separate workspaces allowing users with access to manage, send, and reply to text messages received by the account's shared phone number. 

Key features of a Group Account:

  • Each Group Account has its own separate texting phone number.
  • Voice forwarding number (optional)
  • Shared conversations: any user with access to the Group Account can compose text messages from the account's phone number and view/reply to messages that students send to the account's phone number
  • Built-in mechanisms to prevent multiple users from replying to the same message at the same time
  • Shared Inbox and Archived pages to manage texting activity
  • Can be a new account or you can convert an existing user to a Group Account

MMS

Outgoing Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) texting is now available. Send pictures and GIFs via Compose or when replying to a student's text message. 

Note: MMS is available by default for individual texts only. If you would like to send MMS to segments of students, Bulk MMS is available as an additional service that can be enabled in the new Marketplace (details below).

Mobile App Updates

Templates and Fields are now available in the mobile app when composing a new message or replying to a student in the conversation view.

Note: Upcoming mobile app update will allow you to send MMS.
