Managing Chat Notifications

Overview

The Cadence profile area provides Chat users the option to set up browser push notifications that will notify the user when an incoming chat has been assigned to them. Chat users have the option to set up browser push notifications that will notify the user when an incoming chat has been assigned to them and/or enable emails for when a new follow up conversation has come in.

Enabling Chat browser push notifications

Cadence users can enable Chat notifications two ways:

1. Chat Notifications Prompt

When accessing the Chat page on the left side navigation, users will receive a pop up that prompts them to enable browser notifications.

Note: The pop up will only appear the first time that you access the Chat page. See below for how to enable notifications if you no longer receive the pop up prompt.

By selecting "Accept", a browser notification will provide a prompt to allow notifications.

If a user dismisses the pop up prompt, notifications can still be enabled by clicking on the “Show quick tips” link in the upper right corner of the screen.

Once Chat notifications are enabled, users will see a push notification in their browser when a conversation has been assigned to them!

2. Profile>Manage Notifications

Within a users profile settings, on the Notifications tab, users will see a “Notifications” section with a button for “Enable Desktop Notifications”.

When "Enable Chat Notifications" is clicked, the browser will prompt users to to "Allow" or "Block" browser notifications.

Once Chat notifications are enabled, users will see a push notification in their browser when a conversation has been assigned to them!

Users will also be able to decide if you want to receive an email notification when you or your team has a chat that requests follow up information. Users have the option to check the "Only assigned to me" or "Assigned to my team." This way, no questions go unanswered from you or your team - even when no one is available! And you have the choice for which specific notifications you receive.
