Can I send a clickable hyperlink or hashtag in a text?

We do not recommend sending links. Be aware, sending a link, even in a 1-1 message, does appear as suspicious to a carrier and may result in a carrier violation.

Should I send a link?

You can include a link to a text message, however, doing so will increase the chances that carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, etc., not delivering the message. Carriers may start viewing your texting phone number as spam if a link is sent. For this reason, we do not recommend sending links. This includes email addresses, which carriers view as links as well.

Will a link be clickable?

If you do include a link, there is no way to force it to be a clickable hyperlink. Most phones will automatically show it as a clickable link, however, it is up to the carrier, phone, and text messaging app to determine whether or not the link will be clickable. This is all done on the recipient's end, so as the sender, there is no way to control it.
Can I send a hashtag or #?

Mongoose does not recommend including hashtags in outgoing messages. Using hashtags will increase the likelihood that carriers will filter your messages and prevent your messages from being delivered.
