Why am I seeing "0 Recipients" when I know I've selected contacts?

If you are seeing "0 Recipients" on the confirm page, you have selected contacts and/or a segment that has contacts that are not currently assigned to you or your school does not use the "StaffId" field. 

How do I fix this so I can send a message?

When composing a message, there is a feature called Send to my assigned contacts only. This allows any user to send a message to only contacts who are assigned to them from any shared segment or contact list.  If the "StaffId" field isn't imported for your school, uncheck this option in order to send a text to contacts.
