Ethos Integration - Banner - Guide

Overview

Cadence can integrate with Ellucian's Ethos platform. By leveraging the data models and API capabilities of that platform, you can establish a connection between your Cadence team(s) and Ethos for the purposes of importing data from Banner.

This guide will explain how to configure the integration as well as briefly outline the requirements for being eligible to use the integration.

Note: This integration is only available for Cadence Text. Cadence Chat does not currently support this integration option.


Before You Start

There are several things to consider before deciding to move forward with an integration between Ethos and Cadence:

  • You must have Banner 9 (or higher) completely installed and configured. Please reach out to your Customer Success Manager at Ellucian directly for questions regarding the complete set of requirements.

  • You must have Ellucian Ethos installed and configured, including any required APIs and data models. Please reach out to your Customer Success Manager at Ellucian directly for questions regarding the requirements.
  • Access to the following Ethos APIs must be given:
    • persons
    • persons-filters
    • interests
  • The integration allows you to import Person data from Banner using a Person Filter.
  • Person Object fields (such as Name Type and Mobile Number) can be imported from the Person record.
  • The integration is currently a one-way import process; the ability to automatically export data (such as message activity) is not currently available within the native integration but can be accomplished via file download or webhooks.
  • A basic set of monitoring tools are available in Cadence to track the connection status and import activity/history.
  • Data imports essentially function as a create/update process. If it is the first time you are importing a record, it will be added to the team's data set in Cadence. If you are importing a record that was previously imported, that record will simply be updated with the new information.

Enabling and Locating the Integration Settings

If you are interested in enabling the Ethos integration in your team, please reach out to your Client Success Lead at Mongoose or contact our support team (support@hellomongoose.com). The integration can only be enabled by Mongoose. Once enabled, it will appear under the admin tools for your team.
