Why are my outgoing messages showing up in my inbox?

Are you seeing your outgoing messages in your inbox? Outgoing messages will always be shown in the area (Inbox or Archived) that the conversation is located when the message is sent.

As you communicate with your contacts, your conversations with a contact can exist in one of two places--the Inbox or Archived of your messages area.

Any incoming messages from the contact will show up in your inbox. Any messages that no longer need follow up can be moved to Archived. Archived is intended to be a place messages can be moved to keep the inbox clean and up to date with only relevant/need to respond to messages.

  • If a conversation exists within the Inbox and an outgoing message is sent, that outgoing message will be shown in the inbox.
  • If a conversation exists within the Archived area and an outgoing message is sent, that outgoing message will show in the archived area.
