Mongoose Credits - Usage Report

Overview

Certain Mongoose features utilize credits which are purchased as part of your team's contract. Credits create complete usage-based flexibility, allowing your team to use them for the features that matter most to how you communicate. One credit can be used for several messages across text (SMS and MMS), WhatsApp, and Chat (if sending automatic replies via AI). Admins can view reporting on credit usage and purchase more credits on the Credit Usage page in Mongoose.

This article will include information about:

  • Credit Usage dashboard
  • How to add credits
  • Credits request form
  • How credits work

Credit Usage Dashboard

Admins can navigate to the Credit Usage page by clicking on the Reports tab within Mongoose, from there, you will see a tab at the top labelled "Credit Usage."

On the Credit Usage page, the four credits boxes across the top will display the following information at a quick glance:

  • Current Balance - this displays the total number of credits that are available for your selected team.
  • Usage Last 30 Days - this will show you how many credits have been used over the last 30 days. You can use this to gauge if your current credit balance is enough, or if you will need to purchase more credits.
  • Average Daily Usage (Last 3 months) - this will show you the average daily credit usage over the last 3 months. This can also help you determine if your current credit balance is sufficient, or if you will need to purchase more credits.
  • Expected Days Remaining - this number is calculated based on the average daily usage. As this number counts down, this will help you determine when you will need to purchase more credits.

At the top of the Credit Usage page, you can also:

  • Switch between the different teams that you are an admin on so that you can easily see each team's credits
  • Click on Add Credits to fill out a Credits Request Form
  • Export History will export a CSV file that contains credit purchase history. This document will include information for: transaction type, credit value, new balance, previous balance, notes, approved by, and created on.

Beneath these boxes, there are two charts that will display the following information at a quick glance:

  • Daily Credit Usage - This displays the amount of credits used per day. Use your cursor to hover over this graph to get additional insight.
  • Total Credit Usage - This displays where the credits were used across the various messaging types (AI Assistant, MMS, SMS, and WhatsApp). Use your cursor to hover over this chart to get additional insight.

You can also use the Filter By dropdown to view these usage charts for different date ranges.

Use your cursor to hover over these graphs to get additional insights. Hovering over the Daily Credit Usage graph will display the amount of credits used per day.

Hovering over the Total Credit Usage circle chart will display where the credits were used across the various messaging types (AI Assistant, MMS, SMS, and WhatsApp).

The section at the bottom of the Credit Usage page that contains a tab for users and a tab for inboxes will display:

  • Users - With this view, you can see the total number of credits that each user used, as well as where the credits were used across the various messaging types (MMS, SMS, and WhatsApp).

  • Inboxes - With this view, you can see the total number of credits that each inbox used, as well as where the credits were used across the various messaging types (MMS, SMS, and WhatsApp).

How to Add Credits

If your credit balance is running low and you need to purchase additional credits, you can easily do so within Mongoose. On the Credit Usage dashboard page, the + Add Credits button at the top right will bring you to the Credits Request Form:

Credits Request Form

On this page, admins will be able to submit a request to purchase additional credits. If you need help deciding how many credits to purchase, there is a linked article on this page to help you with this decision: Mongoose Credits - Purchasing Guide.

Here's a breakdown of what each section of the Credits Request Form means:

  • Requestor Name/Email: This displays the information of who is filling out this form. Since you will be logged in, your information will be displayed here.
  • Team: From this dropdown you can select which team you want to select credits for. This will also show each team's current credit balance.
  • Select Credit Amount: Selecting this will allow you to make your purchase decision based on the amount of credits you would like. As you select the amount of credits, the Invoice Total at the bottom will populate with the dollar amount.
  • Input Budget: Selecting this will allow you to make your purchase decision based on your budget. Once your Input Budget Value is added, a Credit Value amount will be suggested at the bottom of this form.

Important Note: There are set increments for the amount of credits you will be able to purchase. The least amount of credits you will be able to purchase through this form is 1,000 credits, and the most amount of credits you will be able to purchase through this form is 40,000 credits. If you would like to purchase more than 40,000 credits, please contact your Client Success Manager directly.

  • Additional Notes for Invoice: You can use this space to provide additional notes on the invoice for your internal invoicing needs. Please note that you will need to contact your Mongoose Account Manager directly for any special requests related to billing timelines.
  • Credit Value: Displays the total number of credits that you are requesting to purchase.
  • invoice Total: Displays the total dollar amount for the amount of credits that you are requesting to purchase.

After credits are purchased: Once the Credits Request Form has been submitted, Mongoose will send an email to all Admins in the team letting everyone know that credits have been added to avoid the potential for duplicate requests.

How Credits Work - Credit Conversion Chart

Every message you send uses credits. The number of credits depends on the message type and format. Think of credits as a simple way to normalize costs across channels.

  • SMS: 1 credit is equal to 13.3 SMS messages.
  • MMS: 1 credit is equal to 6.7 MMS messages.
  • WhatsApp: 1 credit is equal to 6.7 WhatsApp messages.
  • AI Chat Automatic Replies: 1 credit is equal to 13.3 AI automatic replies.

This chart shows a breakdown of the message types, what one individual credit equates to, and if incoming/outgoing messages take away from the credit balance.

Example: For SMS messages, 1 Credit equals 13.3 SMS messages. If you send out 7 SMS messages and receive 6 SMS replies, these messages combined will equal about 1 full credit.
