Connect Integration Guide

Overview

Cadence offers a fully-automated integration with Campus Management Connect. We provide the following points of integration:

  • Contact data from Connect loaded into Cadence
  • All message activity from Cadence populated in Connect Comm Log
  • Any contact opt out preference changes in Cadence reflected in Connect
  • Message delivery errors reflected in Connect (optional)

There are several things to consider before configuring the integration between Connect and Cadence:

  • The user setting up the integration must be an administrator in both Connect and Cadence.
  • The integration relies solely on Connect webservices, and therefore, requires a web user account to be utilized.
  • Logging, monitoring, and notifications are all configurable within Cadence.
  • Overnight, automatic imports can be enabled.
  • Each individual integration process can be scheduled independently or run on demand, at will.

The Connect integration area can only be enabled by Mongoose (contact your Client Success Lead to have it enabled). Once available, it appears under the department administrator's menu:

Note that there may be some aspects of the setup within Connect that Campus Management support may be needed.


Before You Start

There are a few items to consider before you begin configuring the integration:

  • This entire integration runs using Connect webservices. We recommend setting up a new webservices user to use with this specific integration; using an existing webservices user can cause issues with requirements/permissions.
  • This integration allows you to import contact data into Cadence from Connect as well as import texting activity into Connect from Cadence (stored in the Connect Comm Log).
  • Contacts will be imported from Connect filters; we recommend setting up one filter that encompasses all contacts you would like to import into Cadence.
  • Data imports essentially function as a create/update process. If it is the first time you are importing a record, it will be added to the team's data set in Cadence. If you are importing a record that was previously imported, that record will simply be updated with the new information.

Note: This integration is only available for Cadence Text. Cadence Chat does not currently support this integration option.
