Text Message Templates

Overview

Templates allow teams to have and use a set of pre-created messages that can be easily inserted when composing a text message. Templates not only help save time but help maintain consistency of messages across your team.

Note: Only Admin users have the ability to create templates in Cadence. If you are not an Admin user but would like to have a new template created, please contact one of the Admins in your team. If you do not know who the team Admins are, please contact your Mongoose Client Success Lead for more information.


Creating a Template

On the left side navigation, click on "Team Name" drop down>Templates>New Template

1. Name your template: The name is how your template will appear for you and your users to see.

2. Code: This code is not required if you are not using the API. This is an API Code and is only needed if you are utilizing our API to send messages. If using the API, this code will help you pull in the correct template into a text message. 

3. Message: Create your message! You can insert merge fields and emoji's to help personalize and customize your message.

4. Enabled: Make sure you enable your template so that it shows up for others to use. Unchecking this box will remove the visibility of the template in the list.


Viewing and Editing Templates

Any Admin can view the current list of available templates, create a template and edit/delete templates by navigating to " Team Name" > Templates

A list of templates will be shown along with their API code (if applicable,) Created By, Created On, and Updated date.  You can sort the list of templated by any of the column titles. 

To edit, archive, or delete a template, click the menu option (3 vertical dots)>Edit or Delete.

Using a Template

Once a template has been created and enabled, any user in a team can use a template when composing a text message. 

Note: There is not currently a way to restrict access to specific templates in a team or create a list of personal templates. Templates cannot be shared across teams in Cadence.

When composing a text message, instead of manually typing a message, users will be able to select any templates that have been created by clicking the "Template" button. Templates can be used when composing a new text message or when replying within a conversation in the Messages area.

Note: If the Template option is not available, that means there are no templates created and enabled for your team.
